I get my best research by watching 'Spooks' on BBC. It's full of solid material for all serious researchers into 19th Century murders and the activities of the security services. My research is so respected in the BBC that they visit my blog every day to find out authentic details to introduce to the series.
In a clear parallel to my research discoveries, the Spooks find themselves threatened by an old IRA team. This never happens in reality and the IRA are famously forgiving of any British agents they find - often buying them a pink of Guinness and laughing and joking over all stories.
I know this is true because my Dad was a member of Churchill's Secret Army and Rudolf Hess has never given me the slightest bother.
That is a non release of documents excuse. On the other hand, spy names have never been released. I have published lists of British spies in the Fenian movement but that is a completely different matter. They and their relatives can rest assured on my personal assurance that no harm will come to them.
I've instructed my lawyers to sue the BBC for copyright infringement of my blog.
